We started this company because we were tired of being treated like a paycheck.
Before we created Cumberland Service Techs (CST), our founders spent years managing restaurant locations across Middle Tennessee—and we spent a lot of time on the customer side of the phone.
We dealt with the same headaches you’re probably familiar with: skyrocketing service costs, confusing “expert” advice that didn't quite add up, and the constant worry that a repair was being pushed just to pad a bill.
We realized that in the rush to grow big, too many contractors had lost their way. They had swapped out honest troubleshooting for high-pressure sales. We knew Middle Tennessee deserved better—a company that treats your home like their own and your budget with respect.
So, in 2022, we decided to build our own HVAC and plumbing company.
Diagnostic First, Followed by Practical Solutions
At CST, we believe that a technician’s most important tool is their integrity. We founded this company on a simple, honest idea: Accurate diagnostics come first.
We’ve seen too many neighbors told they need a brand-new $10,000 HVAC system when a simple, honest repair would have done the trick. That’s why our team is trained to troubleshoot thoroughly and explain their findings in plain language.
We aren’t there to hit a sales quota; we’re there to get your home back to normal. When we give you a recommendation, you can take it to the bank, knowing it’s based on physics and facts, not an upsell. If we can save your unit and save you money, that’s a win in our book.
Service With a Neighborly Touch
We know that inviting a stranger into your Tennessee home or business requires a massive amount of trust. That’s why we hire for character just as much as we hire for technical skill. We’re the kind of company where our technicians don't just fix the unit with a band-aid and run to the next call.
We’re the guys who will take three minutes to help you move a heavy couch into a better spot if it’s blocking a vent. We’re the team that double-checks the backyard gate twice to make sure your dog doesn't get out after we leave.
You’re our neighbor. Whether we’re crawling under a house in Lebanon to fix a leak or tuning up an AC unit in Mt. Juliet, we treat your property with the same care we’d show our own family's homes.
Deep Roots in Middle Tennessee
We live, work, and raise our families right here in Wilson County. This isn't just where we do business; it’s our home. Our team is woven into the fabric of this community—the same community that values a handshake and a job well done.
This connection is why we’re so passionate about giving back. Whether we’re supporting the next generation of leaders at Cumberland University or standing behind the incredible work of Sherry’s Hope, we believe that a local business should be a pillar of the community. When you support CST, you’re helping us support the local organizations that make Middle Tennessee such a special place to call home.
Our Promise to You
When a CST technician finishes a job and packs up their tools, we want the last thing on your mind to be worry. We want you to feel a sense of total confidence, knowing the problem was diagnosed correctly, the price was fair, and the work was done with precision.
Quality Comfort, Built on Integrity. It's the way we've served our Tennessee neighbors for years, and it's how we'll treat you every single time you call.
Need a Second Opinion?
We’re just around the corner! If you’re tired of confusing quotes and high-pressure sales, let’s get you a clear answer. Whether it’s a leaky pipe or an AC unit that’s seen better days, we’ll treat your home with the integrity it deserves. Call Cumberland Service Techs today at 615-422-6122 or request service online.
Phillip Wiggins — Owner
Phillip Wiggins is a co-founder and owner of Cumberland Service Techs. He helped start CST after experiencing firsthand the frustration many business owners face—high service costs and unclear recommendations from multiple HVAC and equipment providers while operating Zaxby’s restaurants across Middle Tennessee. Determined to create a company built on honesty and accuracy, Phillip helped form CST with a focus on proper diagnostics and quality workmanship. Originally from Carrollton, Georgia, Phillip now resides in Wilson County and is committed to building a service company the local community can truly trust.
Chad Martin — Owner
Chad Martin is a co-founder and owner of Cumberland Service Techs. Like Phillip, Chad’s background as a restaurant owner exposed him to the need for reliable, transparent HVAC and mechanical service. Frustrated by inconsistent diagnostics and unnecessary replacements, Chad helped launch CST to raise the standard for service in Middle Tennessee. A Marietta, Georgia native, Chad has called Wilson County home since 2012 and takes pride in building long-term relationships through honest work and dependable service.
Tyler King — Owner & Lead Technician
Tyler King is an owner and lead technician at Cumberland Service Techs, bringing hands-on expertise, disciplined training, and attention to detail to every job. A licensed plumber, Tyler is known for thorough diagnostics and clear, honest recommendations—focused on fixing problems correctly, not just quickly.
Tyler and his wife, Anna Kate, welcomed their first child, Olivia, in March 2025. Originally from Bowdon, Georgia, Tyler has been a Wilson County resident since 2021. The Kings attend The Bridge Fellowship Church in Lebanon and are proud to be part of the local community they serve.
